Abstract

The work reported in this thesis describes the preparation and characterization of homopolymers of vinyl acetate, trifluoroethyl acrylate, trifluoroethyl methacrylate, hexafluoroisopropyl acrylate and hexafluoroisopropyl methacrylate.Block copolymers of vinyl acetate with the above monomers were prepared by the living macroradical technique. The products were characterized by a combination of analysis ;infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy; gel permeation chromatography; solvent extraction; and observation of bulk physical properties.
